Wukesong Stadium is located near Wukesong Bridge along Chang’an Street with a construction area of 63000 square meters and can accommodate 18000 people. It has developed into a landmark venue for Beijing cultural and sports activities after the Beijing Olympic Games. In 2016, Wukesong Stadium became the home of basketball and ice hockey at the same time. After the transformation of ice making and dehumidification system, the two game modes of ice hockey and basketball can be converted within 6 hours, the “ice basket back-to-back” competition has been successfully held many times.

After the renovation is completed, Wukesong Stadium will have two convertible ice rinses of 30x 60 meters and 26x 60 meters, which will facilitate the operation of the venue after the game; Update the ice machine set, and the ice making system of Wukesong Stadium will adopt R449A environment-friendly refrigerant; transform functional rooms, such as player locker rooms, stimulant testing rooms, laundry rooms, etc. Ice hockey competition is an ice confrontational sport with large physical consumption. The number of players is large and the rotation is frequent. Each team will carry a large number of equipment to participate in the competition and need a fixed dressing room. According to the renovation plan, Wukesong Stadium will re-plan the existing 4 dressing rooms, transform them into 6 dressing rooms that meet the standards of Winter Olympics, and support wardrobe, massage room, coach Room, room sharpening and meal preparation area, etc. At the same time, Wukesong Stadium will also upgrade venue lighting, sound, central bucket screen, power, Network, 5G, cable TV system, etc.
According to the introduction, the reconstruction project of Wukesong Stadium in winter and Olympic Games will be based on the principles of green, sharing, frugality and technological improvement. On the one hand, on the basis of meeting the demand during the competition, it will take into account the use after the competition, on the other hand, it will make full use of new technologies, concepts and materials to make the venue achieve a qualitative leap in energy saving, consumption reduction, comprehensive and efficient utilization, and improvement of the competition environment. Wukesong Stadium winter and Olympic reconstruction project is expected to be completed in October this year and meet the requirements of the test competition. It is completed in that year and ready for the relevant test competition in next April.
