The President of the Japanese medical association yokogura Yiwu said earlier that if the world could not find a vaccine against the new coronavirus next year, it would be difficult for the Olympic Games to be held as scheduled. Regarding the statement of hengcang Yiwu, Gao Gu zhengzhe said at the online press conference that day: “We have answered such questions many times, and the answer is the same: the Olympic and Paralympic Games have set a new date. Gao Gu zhengzhe also said that since the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games have been postponed, the opening and closing ceremony plans of the two competitions will change.

Regarding the issue of temporary venues for the Olympic Games, he said that most of the temporary facilities and venues are kept for one year, and the Olympic organizing committee will ensure the safety and reliability of all temporary facilities. Some small-scale temporary facilities, such as tents, will be dismantled as soon as possible for safety reasons.
When talking about the issue of extra expenditure, Gao Gu zhengzhe said that many Japanese media speculated that the extra expenditure caused by the delay of the Olympic Games was 2.7 billion US dollars, but the Olympic organizing committee had never made a similar calculation, the specific amount needs to be carefully evaluated before being determined.
