The International Federation of skating said in a statement that the executive committee of the International Federation of skating held an online meeting on the 16th. Considering the current impact of the new coronavirus epidemic on the international community, it was impossible to hold the above three events in 2020, therefore, the decision to cancel the three events was made.
The 2020 International Federation of skating short track speed skating World Championship was originally scheduled to be held in Seoul, South Korea on March 13-15, and the 2020 figure skating world championship was originally scheduled to be held in Montreal, Canada on March 16-22, the 2020 queue skating world championship was originally scheduled to be held in Lake Placid in the United States on April 3-5.
Previously, the International Federation of skating has announced that the short track speed skating world championship will be postponed. The Canadian side also made it clear in early March that the figure skating world championships would not be held due to the outbreak of new coronavirus pneumonia.
The International Slide Association also said in the statement that the executive committee of the International Slide Association will hold an online meeting on 28th day of this month to discuss whether to adjust the schedule of the 2020-2021 season according to the epidemic situation.
