After the earthquake and tsunami in 2011, the national football center once became the resettlement center for victims. In order to commemorate the post-disaster reconstruction, the Olympic torch relay was originally planned to hold an opening ceremony here on March 26, however, one year after the Olympic games were postponed, the torch relay activities were all canceled.
The handover ceremony on that day was very simple. The Tokyo organizing committee for the Olympic Games only sent the chief Operation official yukiyan bucun to attend, and the governor of Fukushima prefecture only sent the director of the County Sports and Culture Bureau to attend.
Yuyan bucun said at the handover ceremony: “I believe that after we defeat the new Crown epidemic next year, the Olympic flame will become a symbol of celebrating human victory all over the world.”
Nodi Cheng said that he believed that next year’s Olympic torch relay would still start from Fukushima, sending a strong signal to people to overcome all difficulties.
The Olympic torch exhibition will last from April 2 to April 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., BOCOG said in a statement, the place where the flame will be placed next month has not been decided yet.
In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the organizing committee requires the audience to keep a certain distance, and must wear masks and use disinfectant.
