A data research and analysis company named YouGov recently launched a survey among 1396 fans who often watch Premier League matches. More than two thirds of fans think VAR makes the game not as good as before, and only 13% think the game is more interesting.

However, 74 percent of the fans think VAR should continue to play a role in the field, but it must be improved. Only 15% of the fans hope to say goodbye to VAR completely, and 8% of the fans think VAR is good enough to keep the status quo.

How to make VAR better? 81 percent of the participants believe that live fans and video assistant referees should be allowed to see video playback at the same time. 80% of the fans think that the current referee should be more encouraged to watch the video playback by himself. 73 percent of fans want to hear the conversation between the referee and the video assistant referee. In addition, 71% of the fans think that the use of VAR should be increased by the time limit.
