Xinhua News Agency, Tokyo, March 27 (Reporter Prince Jiang) Tokyo Olympic organizing committee has informed more than 80,000 Olympic and Paralympic volunteers from all over the world that they can still continue to serve the events postponed until next year.

It was revealed that the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee sent an email to these volunteers, asking them to confirm whether they can continue to participate in the Olympic Games or Paralympic Games next year. As long as they can participate, the position can be retained.

After the Tokyo Olympic Games was confirmed to be postponed on the 24th, many volunteers expressed concern. After all, the volunteer application competition was very fierce. For volunteers who are unable to participate in next year’s competition for some reason, the organizing committee will re-formulate recruitment plans for these vacant places.

64 percent of the 80000 + volunteers are Japanese residents. According to the previous plan, the volunteers of the Tokyo Olympic Games completed all the preliminary training at the end of February, and carried out job assignment in March. In April, more specific training was started for each person’s role. Due to the outbreak of the epidemic, all training has been canceled since early February.
