Xinhua News Agency, Zurich, March 13, FIFA issued a statement on the official website on the 13th. Affected by the new Crown pneumonia epidemic, it is recommended to postpone all international football matches in March and April.
Fifa said: “holding a competition under the current epidemic will not only pose a threat to the health of players and the public, but also cause the competition to be unfair because the team cannot send the best lineup, therefore, we suggest that all international football matches scheduled for March and April should be postponed immediately until they can provide safe and reliable environmental protection for players and spectators. The decision on whether the final competition is postponed still belongs to their respective competition organizers or related member associations.”
The rules that FIFA requires clubs to release players for national team matches have been temporarily revoked. FIFA mentioned in the statement that the clubs would have the right to refuse their players to participate in the match for the national team in March and April.
After negotiating with relevant Fifa, FIFA has postponed the Asian and South American World Cup qualifier.
