Yoshiro Mori, the chairman of the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, recently revealed that the Olympic organizing committee is considering a torch tour exhibition nationwide in Japan, but this plan must be approved by the International Olympic Committee.
Xinhua News Agency, Tokyo, April 3 (Reporter Prince Jiang) Yoshiro Mori, chairman of Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, revealed recently that the Olympic organizing committee is considering conducting a torch tour exhibition nationwide in Japan, but this plan must be approved by the IOC.
The Tokyo Olympic flame has been exhibited for a month at the national football training center of Fukushima Prefecture in northeastern Japan since the 2nd, but where to save the flame after Fukushima has always been a concern, mori then proposed to expand the exhibition to the whole country.
Japan’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications High-City early Miao expressed support for the national tour plan. She hoped that the torch exhibition would play an active role in “The revitalization of remote areas.
Yoshiro Mori said: “The Olympic organizing committee will hold consultations with the International Olympic Committee as soon as possible, hoping to get permission to use the torch.” The chief executive officer of the organizing committee of the Olympic Games, Wu fujimo, also revealed that he would assign staff to cooperate with the General Affairs Department.
According to the original Olympic torch relay plan, the 121-day torch relay passes through 859 cities in 47 prefectures and counties in Japan. If the torch is exhibited nationwide, those areas that are not on the original transmission route will be considered first.
The Olympic flame was lit in Greece on March 12. The original plan was to deliver it in Greece for six days. Because of fear of the spread of the new coronavirus, Greece canceled the transmission activity one day after the transmission. On the 20th, the torch arrived in Japan on the special plane of the Olympic organizing committee. Four days later, the Olympic Games was postponed, and the torch relay originally planned to start on the 26th was also canceled.
The Olympic flame has now become a hot potato to a large extent. The original plan of Tokyo Olympic organizing committee was to transfer the torch to Tokyo for preservation after the Fukushima exhibition, however, the preservation of the flame is a relatively complicated matter, and the location facilities and security issues need to be considered. The planned national tour also faces great challenges. In addition to choosing suitable locations and facilities, the holy fire needs 24 hours of special care. In addition, epidemic prevention itself is also a huge problem. Therefore, some experts analyzed that it was wise for the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee to postpone the firing ceremony.
