Yang Yang introduced that Bach said at the meeting that there were many speculations about whether the Tokyo Olympic Games were held as scheduled, which caused interference to the preparation of athletes. Bach also said that the International Olympic Committee will not insist on opening the Olympic Games because of economic interests, because the International Olympic Committee has corresponding risk control policies and insurance, and the final decision whether it can be held as scheduled will not depend on economic interests. About 200 representatives from the International Olympic Committee, the International Federation of individual sports, the National (regional) Olympic Committee and the Athletes Committee of the relevant Olympic organizing committee attended the meeting, while the president of the International Olympic Committee was Bach, as well as the Olympic Department, the athlete relations department, the medical committee and other relevant responsible persons participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, the head of the sports department explained the relevant policies and changes of the Olympic qualifier to the athletes. In the following Q & A session, representatives of athletes mentioned that their preparation for Olympic games were affected by the epidemic and lacked support and corresponding guarantees. The International Olympic Committee said it would urge the national (regional) Olympic committees to assist and support athletes as much as possible to prepare for the war.
